Today (30), the Governor of the Banco de Moçambique, Rogério Zandamela, called a press conference to announce the decisions of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC).
Before an audience comprised of journalists, executive directors and advisers of the Banco de Moçambique, the Governor announced the reduction of the monetary policy interest rate, MIMO, from 14.25% to 13.50%, underpinned by the continued consolidation of single-digit inflation prospects over the medium term, in a context where the assessment of the risks and uncertainties associated with the projections remains favorable.
It should be noted that this MPC session was preceded by a meeting of the Banco de Moçambique Stability and Financial Inclusion Committee, in which the developments of financial inclusion indicators was evaluated, as reflected in the MPC communiqué, and it was concluded that financial inclusion levels increased significantly.
