The National Payment System (NPS) is a systematized and structured set of players, services, subsystems, instruments, technology, and procedures that facilitate the transfer of funds or monetary values in the Mozambican economy, for ensuring security, reliability, transparency, and efficiency in payments.

NPS composition

• Real-time wholesale transfer settlement services;
• Transfer settlement services for funds and other financial assets;
• Clearing houses.
• Single electronic payments network (SIMO);
• Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) and
• VISA network.
