BANCO DE MOÇAMBIQUE PUBLISHES INTERIM FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2026

The Banco de Moçambique has published its Audited Interim Separate Financial Statements for the first half of 2026. These statements were audited by the same independent auditor that certified the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2025 and have been prepared in accordance with International Accounting Standard (IAS) 34 – Interim Financial Reporting, in line with international financial reporting best practices.
In this light, the Banco de Moçambique recorded a net profit of MZN 4.186 billion in the first half of 2026, representing an increase of 171% compared with the corresponding period in 2025, driven by gains on financial operations. Total assets amounted to MZN 992.732 billion, reflecting growth of 2% (MZN 16.045 billion) compared with the 2025 financial year.
The central bank reaffirms its commitment to strengthening an institutional culture founded on transparency and effective communication with society.
