GOVERNOR ZANDAMELA RAISES A TOAST WITH JOURNALISTS IN LIGHT OF THE BM’S 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The Governor of the Banco de Moçambique, Rogério Zandamela, hosted a toast for media partners on Friday morning (12) at the Bank’s headquarters, as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Banco de Moçambique and the 45th anniversary of the Metical.
The event brought together nearly 30 journalists and representatives from various public and private media outlets that have been working with the central bank in covering its activities and disseminating information of public interest. “Today’s event concludes the series of meetings we have held with several partners and aims to acknowledge the support provided by the media in disseminating information related to the Banco de Moçambique”, the Governor said.
At the event, Rogério Zandamela highlighted the indispensable role of media professionals and their contribution to informing and educating the public on a wide range of issues, particularly those related to the Bank’s policies, decisions and initiatives.
He also took the opportunity to clarify several topics that have sparked public debate in Mozambique, notably exchange rate stability and the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Mozambique, as well as to share the latest developments concerning the national roll-out of instant payment systems.
Rogério Zandamela wrapped up his remarks by expressing his gratitude and appreciation to managers, journalists, reporters and production staff from the various media organisations for their dedication to their mission, extending wishes for a joyful festive season and a prosperous new year.
The event was attended by board members, advisers, managers and staff members of the Bank, as well as journalists and managers from media outlets.
