BM WRAPS UP THIRD EDITION OF “ECONOMICS FOR ALL”
Friday, 04 July 2025

The final stage of the “Economics for All” educational initiative by the Banco de Moçambique took place yesterday (July 3), marking the culmination of a nationwide contest held across 22 select secondary schools and involving students from grades 9 through 12.
This stage brought together around 660 finalists, selected from an initial pool of 2,200 students, who presented their best work in the categories of essay writing, poetry, and video. The content focused on basic concepts of inflation and the role of the central bank, as outlined in brochures previously distributed to the target group.
In each province, the winners in the three contest categories were announced and awarded prizes and certificates by branch directors or representatives of the Banco de Moçambique, alongside officials from the Ministry of Education. Winners were selected by a jury composed of teachers from the participating schools.
Launched on April 30, the “Economics for All” contest unfolded in three phases: an initial true/false quiz completed by 100 students per school; a second round in which the top 30 students from each school were selected to submit essays, poems, or videos on the proposed topics; and a final round to select and award the top submissions.
The contest was marked by the active involvement of school-appointed teachers, who served as jury members and supported students in preparing and evaluating their entries.
